My Art Journey

I grew up in Wisconsin and enjoyed drawing, art and music as a child and teenager. I initially studied graphic arts/design in college then graduated with a Business-Marketing degree.

I channeled my creativity through my Marketing profession in Chicago and San Francisco.  Like many people,  I fell in love with California's weather and natural beauty and was fortunate to live there for two decades.  The topography of California and the Midwest provide inspiration for my art.   I now reside in Atlanta and expect southern topography and imagery to make its way into my art.

I paint using acrylics on canvas and gouache on paper, with brush and palette knife. My subject matter varies, including landscapes, seascapes, florals and animals. 

I characterize my style as "representational" art using bright, vivid colors to depict nature's beauty and to convey a feeling of tranquility.   I have traveled extensively across the U.S., and my work reflects places I have visited, along with imagery from photos.
