I grew up in Wisconsin and enjoyed drawing as a child. As a teen, music and art were my passions. I studied graphic arts for my first two years of college, then changed majors and graduated with a Marketing degree.
I focused on my Marketing career in Chicago and San Francisco and funneled my creativity into it. I fell in love with the weather and natural beauty in California and was fortunate to live there for two decades. California landscapes and my youth in the Midwest are inspirations for my art. I moved to Atlanta shortly before the pandemic and focused on art/painting as my second act.
I paint using acrylics and various mediums, brush and palette knife on canvas. I enjoy experimenting with different mediums like gouache. I call these works "My Sandbox" as I let my creativity flow with different techniques and subject matter beyond landscapes and seascapes.
My style is evolving but I characterize it as "representational art" using vibrant colors to depict natural beauty and convey a feeling of tranquility. I have traveled extensively across the U.S., and my work reflects places I have visited, with some scenes imagined. I also have work based on flowers and wildlife.
